A businessman with a life of routine suddenly disappears. Throughout his escape, he keeps his wife in his thoughts, wishing for her happiness.

/Statement

Kira is an experimental short film that offers a melancholic exploration of Japan’s "evaporated people" phenomenon. To probe the themes of absence, grief, and the voluntary erasure of those who choose to leave everything behind, the director deploys a singular visual approach based on photogrammetry. These 3D textures, tearing, crumbling, and floating in the void, become a direct metaphor for a fading traumatic memory, placing the work at the crossroads of research documentary and virtual fiction.
